Project Review: The Experiment 2010

Some 3D Steel Logos I did for Joseph Stamper, an Art Director on the project.

The Security Camera 3/4 view done for Art Director Calvin Sumler.

A straight shot on the lens and iris inside the Security Camera[ with reflection of jail].

"The Box" a dark black iron isolation chamber in the prison done for Art Director Calvin Sumler.

Inside a Prison Cell done for Art Director Chris A. Hawkins.

A Dark Corner comp done for Joseph Stamper with a prisoner added down in the corner for the comp.

A simple chair, but as a Smart 3D(R) asset is had reflections and shadows all on layers so it could be painted 10x faster than a photo could.

THE EXPERIMENT
2010

Client: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment via The Cimarron Group.
Art Director(s): Chris A. Hawkins, Joseph Stamper, and Calvin Sumler.
Project Date: Fall 2008.

A direct to video remake of the German film "The Experiment" was a project I did 3D Illustration work for when we were pitching the project without any assets, so I created from scratch a jail environment and a bunch of props that would be found in the film. The Isolation box, a char to be tied to and a security camera were on the table. I also did a few logos some looking to be cut from solid metal with a cutting torch. RUN!

Cheers, THOM
