Quick Pit Stop!

Tire blow out today, quick pit stop!

Good Morning 3DCD!

DROBO to the RESCUE!

Tire blow out today, quick pit stop!

This am after an all night render I had a "Drive Fail" RED warning on the Drobo. Shot to BestBuy[ I know!], and got a 1TB drive for a C note and click, one out, new one in ready to go. Not even a power re-boot! Wow. I love the redundant back up!

Cheers, THOM

Studio UPDATE

Whew! I have consolidated almost 90% of the 17 years of 3D work I have onto my new server for use.

Now I just need to figure out how to connect an old ZIP drive and Syquest Disc's as all my DI and WDI work is on these discs. I might still have the Parallel Port external, looking............

Studio UPDATE!

The network is set up! Max 2009, max 2010 and Final Render are working on all PC's now via the Backburner software, so the mini Render-farm is tested, and a GO!

The Drobo mini server is done too! 2.75TB with redundant Back-Up.

Special thanks go out to the Pit crew, with agent "White Hawk" taking command on this.

Studio UPDATE!

The Home studio grew today and yesterday with the arrival of the two DELL Precision workstations for the mini Renderfarm set up. They are both Dual Quad Core with 8GB RAM each so I now will have 24 Processors of 3D computing power. I also received my HD monitors and Drobo with Droboshare today for my shared storage solution. I will have 2.5TB's of redundantly backed up storage shared across the mini network!

The full network rendering set up will be active in short order, but 3D Conceptual Designer is OPEN for business! Many thanks go out to many people, you know who you are!

A view of the Studio

Everything is all set up and ready. I am getting two additional 8 processor PC's for a mini Render-farm within a week with about 3TB of server space.
