Project Review: Blood Diamond

A Shattered Single Point Beveled Iron Logo on Rock.

A light over dark version of the logo as a Single-Point-Beveled design.

One of my personal favorites in steel with very subtle lighting.

A very rough version of the Single-Point-Bevel on a cracked red diamond rock background.

A logo done with a blood red slight reflective floor below.

The D's are interlocked and the two lines animated in the tests for this AV logo.

A Tilting Logo animated for the AV title.

BLOOD DIAMOND

Client: Warner Brothers via The Cimarron Group.
Art Director(s): Myself Tom Kositchotitana.
Project Date: Fall 2006.

Back in 2006 I worked on some AV titles for the Theatrical Trailer Division at Cimarron and these are the concepts we presented to Warner Brothers. The Posters used plain 2D treatments for the tile logo but they were open to explore some designs in 3D for the trailers. Above you can see the exploration I did with the use of red textures and lighting and dark red blood colors in the designs.

All designs were designed to be animated in 3D for a finish on a trailer, though they went back to the 2D look this was a good design project.

Cheers, THOM
