Project Review: Project "Meadow" WDI

Coaster Cladding with Old Ship Parts.

Coaster Cladding done with Bamboo and rope.

A spaceframe seat made to resemble a Wright Brothers wreaked plane look.

A Jules Verne Victorian Velvet Tuffed Look.

A Native Bamboo and Mask Look.

A Modern blended look with vintage materials and ship parts.

Project Meadow Coaster Seat Designs.

Client: Walt Disney Imagineering.
Art Director: Myself.
Project Date: Summer 1998.

While working at WDI in the 90's I was on the Paris team for about a year working on various projects. I was the chief show designer on a "E" ticket high dollar attraction to be placed in Adventureland in Paris a Roller Coaster clad to look like a jungle ride.

These sketches reflected a way to clad up the coaster to look like it was made by the natives. I also had a few variation on themes. I have a Jules Verne look with button tuffed pillows, as well as a Wright Brothers space frame seat look along with ones built from wreaked ship parts. FUN project that never was produced.

Cheers, THOM
