3D Model Sales Part XIV Electrical Mechanical Toggle Switch

A Non-Subdivided base mesh shot of the little toggle switch I sell online.

Here is the above shot of the little vintage toggle switch  subdivided and smoothed out.

From the back you can see the rivets holding the electrical leads with the set screws.

This is what the FBX and OBJ exports look like as I remove the turbo smooth[ subdivision], so the model comes in lite.

The side view shows the real threads in the set screws. as well as t in the toggle and retaining ring and nut as well.


The Low poly view from the side is good for longer shots w/o any subdivision too.

I sometimes to a test render with my materials to show the part fully rendered, though I sell it blank so each end user can texture themselves with more control.

Part XIV
Electrical Mechanical Toggle Switch

I sell my 3D models online at Turbosquid, the leading stock 3D model house,  so for this PART XIV[14th], I am reviewing another much smaller part I sell, that of of a small older mechanical metal toggle switch online here.

I always use little model like this, and an iconic on off switch like this is good for any mechanical application, or steam-punk mechanical switch use or web interface. A full 360 model with all the details as well as threaded parts thru out.


I also decided to model in the type on this one too, rather than a bump map as I've done in the past, so I did a mini SPB[ Single Point Beveled ] text piece and built off that foe the escutcheon.

I export all my 3D assets to FBX and OBJ so my friends in Cinema 4D , Maya, and Soft-XSI can use these assets as well.

Project Review: Motion Graphics for Spongebob Movie 2004.

At frame 18 we see the big bubble with the quote inside rise into frame for this Sponge-bob MGFX card.

 By frame 28 we are entering the title safe area for the quote, as it still rises up.


 Around frame 38 the bib bubble "Pops" and reactor is used to birth the particle event for the mini bubbles left over.

 Once the big bubble pops, the quote drifts back down to the seafloor, and I used the gravity settings to get the drop just right.


 Here at frame 92 the quote is almost out of Title safe and the quick card is done.

Project Review
Motion Graphics for Spongebob Movie 2003.

Client:Paramount Pictures /Nickelodeon Movies via The Cimarron Group.
Direction: Scott Fleisher.
Project Date: Summer 2004.

When I went over to The Cimarron Group in 2003 after successfully establishing a 3D Department at BLT a few years prior, and I went head first into a good amount of Motion Graphics work out of necessity over the years, as they did not have a 3D animator there for the majority of my stay, so I learned on project, and ended up finishing over 80 trailers with my 3D motion graphics frames handed off to the MGFX team there to finish up.

So today I am covering a look concept for a set of cards for the TV review spots that are done the weeks after the film Spongebob was released to help boost attendance by citing the reviews. 

For this concept, we put the review quotes into bubbles and used the font from the Main Title to match the look, and we would "Pop" the bubble to get the review to come out and float.

They wanted a cartoony Photo real-ish look, so I designed out a real bubble shader with a cartoony reflection and this is what they ended up using for the reviews.

A fun Reactor particle animation project in 3DS max for a fun little property.

3D Model Sales: Part XIII-Electrical Light Switch and Wall Outlet

 An overhead shot of the two small 3D Props I sell online for your 3D Animation, Architectural render or 3D Illustration.


 A fully 100% Subdivision surface can be subdivided to as high as your machine can handle for a great close up shot.

 A shot at center level on the two wall plates.

 The Base OBJ and FBX exports come in low res format so the end user can add the division in their native program for speed and control.

 Switched "ON" is modeled into that little flipper switch too.


 I Also SPB* modeled "OFF" with the switch in the down position

 The back of the plates show a bit of details in case your close up shows thru.

Electrical Light Switch and Wall Outlet

I sell my 3D models online at Turbosquid, the leading stock 3D model house,  so for this PART XIII[13th], I am reviewing a much smaller part I sell, that of of a set of wall plates with a light switch and plug outlet that I sell here.


These smaller items get a lot of use over the years that I've done 3D Illustration, for almost every interior shot of architecture that I've done. I also have done close up renders of the light switch for some posters in the past, so I figured I should build out a high rez subdivision version of them to use, and also to sell for other 3D Designers and 3D Artists use too.

They say the devil is in the details, and these little items will add in a layer to a blank room or one wall shot.

I also decided to model in the type to this set rather than a bump map as I've done in the past, so I did a mini SPB[ Single Point Beveled ] text piece and extended it out to the full switch.

I use these with no subdivision all thru a bigger set, or room, and will add a turbo-smooth if we get close up, that is the advantage to subdivision models is you can always uprez them as needed. A quick small detail to add realism to any shot you have to present.   
 
I export all my 3D assets to FBX and OBJ so my friends in Cinema 4D , Maya, and Soft-XSI can use these assets as well.

Project Review: Lucky Number Sleven 2005- Motion Graphics 3D Firearm Build.

 A hero shot of the Beretta Cheetah model I made for Lucky Number Sleven Motion Graphics work back in 05'

 The firearm is now turned toward camera in this render.

 I modeled the checkerboards and cut them into the grip so that is modeled not a bump-fake.

 A works-eye shows the clip in place, as this was a 360 spin model with about 70% X-Ray inside workings as well.

 This Polygon shot shows the NURMS conversion to tri's.

 Here is a side shot of the geometry of the 3D asset I built out for the Motion Graphics for Lucky Number Sleven.

Back in 2005 while in-house at The Cimarron Group, a Theatrical Advertising Agency in Hollywood,  I was tasked with building out a very detailed Beretta Firearm for use in a teaser trailer for the film Lucky Number Sleven. I had build a few handguns in the past,  so this was another one under my belt to create so to speak.

I downloaded blueprints cut aways and some good photos so I could begin the build. I made this as a high-rez model built out of NURMS using Npowers Power-Nurbs modeler.

We did some close up moves on the gun as a wipe element for the trailers, a fun exercise in modeling and a bit of animation as well.

3D Model Sales: Part XII- Craftsman Bungalow 1

A front 3/4 view of the smoothed model I sell online of a small "Box House" from the Craftsman era, here.

This is the base model with all subdivision removed. This is how the FBX, and OBJ exports are saved for the C4D, and Maya users to utilize this product as well.




The North side of the home with the built -in hutch tip out seen protruding.

 With the subdivision removed the base poly build of the porch area.

The back entrance is seen in this 3/4 shot.


The bay window in the dining area floats out over the foundation.


Electric Meter and Power post up thru the roof with flashing and ready to hook up to the virtual city power grid!

Porch details include bead-board ceiling, mission light, solid oak door, and double hung windows.

Here in this elevated shot you can see the slight curl I gave to the roof shingles to help break up a usual flat surface a bit more.

 You can also see the gas meter down on the lower North foundation too in this low-poly shot.

Part XII
Craftsman Bungalow 1

I sell my 3D models online at Turbosquid, the leading stock 3D model house,  so for todays PART XII[12th], I am showcasing a model I have uploaded for sale of a Craftsman styled California Bungalow.
I love the Arts and Crafts movement, and have built out aa few Craftsman homes, but this is my first full 100% subdivision version with all parts ready to smooth out the the highest level of detail needed.

I  hand built each part and cut out the various section to make this about 50% an X-ray model, so it is good for deconstruction animations as well. The windows are grouped and linked to slide in the double hung frames, as well as the front and back doors being grouped and hinged.


Bead board porch roof, screened basement casement windows and the gas and electric meters all make this model ready to go for your scene.

   
I export all my 3D assets to FBX and OBJ so my friends in Cinema 4D , Maya, and Soft-XSI can use these assets as well.
