Project Review Spider-Man Homecoming: Main Title Treatment Concepts March 2016

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- A deep extrusion 3D Logo with polished metal and a pinched logo in center[ Bow Tie ].

 

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- A neon center light for the title and tagline, along with a carbon fiber woven texture applied the the chrome heavy beveled type for this concept piece.

 

 

 Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- For this design I used the Ruby Red beveled glass center that was found in the Second Avengers film along with the use of a typewriter font that was more flat for the Peter Parker tagline above in this conceptual design 3D Logo.

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- an Early version using the "Homecoming" Tag Line in the title with a slight serif in the inner glowing red with a hard lighting from above.

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- I used a red leather texture that I developed years back on this on borrowed for my Dare Devil logos found here. Top lit again with a gradient texture on the Tag line below.

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- Red material faced titles with Chrome extrusions going back. I used a deep heavy bevel up top with a larger steel bevel over what I used in the Tag Line below here. This was an Unmasked version of the title.

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- Here the red color was used in the holding device extrusion with a steel face texture. The red material was a rougher surface to add in some textural variety to the smooth faces in front. This was a Peter Parker Title variant as well.

 

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- Here in these Key Art Concept I used more blue in the design with neon above and below along with a cool environment reflecting in the ribbed steel Spider-man above.

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- The only design using Gold in the concept as the top extrusion. I also built out the face as a softer pillow "Jelly" design with a distinctive highlight to make it wet and glossy.

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments-A Carbon Fiber like woven material use in the Red texture was to play off his suit he wears and shows a little tech in the new Tony Stark supplied outfit he has here.

 

 

 

 Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- A 3 level multi plate design for this one with the deep blood red darker face and two extrusions back with the last level going back a bit wider as a holding device that catches a rear highlight.

 

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- Two plate design in bright steel up top with "Peter Parker, and a three plate multi level design below with Spider-mans red in a brushed aluminum material, sitting on two separate black chrome plates stacked below.

 

 Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- Both lines in this title have three levels, up top a metal gradient with a hint of cool blue in it, with red below in a brushed steel.

 

 

 

 Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- Both lines here use a reverse extrusion giving a drop shadow inside the font. Red above and cool steel below. Shiny chrome edges catch the light which is good for MGFX light animations.

 

 

 

Spider-Man: Homecoming: 3D Key Art Title Treatments- The only non horizontal typeface layout used a reversed extrusion again here with multiple materials and back lit with blue lighting.

Main Title Treatment Concepts

      I'm sharing my visual development work I did for Patrick at the BOND Agency on Key Art 3D Title Treatment concepts for Spider Man Homecoming from March 2016.

      I have been a fan of the character sine the 70's TV show got me interested in the Comic Books, and have been a fan ever since.I have posted Key Art Title Treatment concepts I was given to create. 

 

   Typical to job of this scale, I was giving a huge set of type laid out by the team of Art Directors to dimensionalize into 3D for both Key Art and Motion Graphic use for the Advertising for the Film. You will also note that they were still playing around with the film name itself, as seen in my group of renders above. With Avenger, and Peter Parker in the titles at that stage.

 

      I built many designs using a multi-plate design method with the title face as a separate object with it's own bevel along with other objects for the extrusion and holding devises. I also used a wide variety of textures in my concepts, with fabric, carbon fiber, steel, and candy apple red painted textures as well.

Color wise at this time the signature red and blue along with some metal was the direction given. Red was always at the front and used extensively, with some back light and glows in the blue as a secondary color to focus upon.

Has a really great time working on these big superhero film titles for Spiderman.

 

     I am continuing doing freelance now as I hunt for a full-time place to work at, so if you need a bid for a 3D Illustration or 3D Logo, or a 3D Model feel free to contact me for a quote.
