Part IV Transparent[ Glass Crystal Water ] 3D Logos and Icons for Key Art

3D Logos Part 4 is my next installment on 3D Logos covering specifically logos and Icons that take great care to ensure legibility as this post covers transparent and translucent 3D logo creation and design. These logos can get lost and loose legibility due to the nature of the materials.

I do quite a bit of transparent and translucent logos from the glass and glowing neon work, to sub surface scattering inside an 3D volumetric material that is beyond the surface of the geometry.

It is the most challenging to make them legible as well as a design that can work on a light or dark background. Sometime you need to create multiple versions as glass is both reflective of the environment around it, as well as refractive[ light bending] of what is seen thru the objects. Caustics come into play with transparent materials as well, so you can adjust the setting to get those beautiful light glints inside in and on the surfaces of the logo and the surfaces directly around your designs as real world rendering and GI lighting affords the 3D Designer.
If  you have a need for a Transparent Glass or other look to a 3D logo, contact me for a quote today. Prices are very reasonable.

3D Architerctural Renderings of Exteriors Modeling and/or Design by Thom Schillinger 3D Conceptual

3D Architectural Renderings of Exteriors: Modeling and/or Design by Thom Schillinger 3D Conceptual Designer[ Full Size 8K Ultra-HD Image HERE]
3D Exterior Modeling and Architectural Design Rendering

I a second posting covering Architectural Visualization today I am covering exterior design work. [PART I here on Interiors] I have always had a love for Architecture both Interior and Exterior Design, so getting to jump into this right out of College was a great area to hone these skills.

I eventually started doing Theme Park design as a Show Designer on both interior and exterior concepts, this furthered my contact with great Architects and Designers building themed entertainment venues.

During the Dot.Com boom in late 1999, I moved over to create virtual architecture for the Launch.com Launch City full design revision, this allowed me to fully use the past experience to create virtual environments to green-screen in live band performances for the DR CD ROM Magazine industry, though short lived as that industry was.

As I moved into Theatrical Entertainment doing Key Art for Movie Posters, this virtual exterior set work continues to this day to be a large part of what I do on a regular basis. I will typically recreate a set piece from a film at a very specific angle for a one sheet, and this allows the client to have a pre-masked smart 3D asset, with total control for editing after the photo shoot is done. A virtual set is never taken down, so I can re-access it and adjust for new renders in the future.

If you have a need for traditional Architectural rendering, Interior or Exterior, or themed work, please contact me for a bid.

PART I on Interiors is HERE.

3D LOGOS Part III: Distressed 3D Logos for Key Art

Part III Distressed 3D Logos for Key Art

3D Logos Part 3 is my next installment on 3D Logos covering specifically logos that are the opposite of the last post of shiny clean metal, to distressed logos in metal and other materials.
Of the hundreds of 3D Logos I do every year for Key Art, I do quite a bit of distressed ones as well, right behind clean ones which are the top of the logo food chain.

I really enjoy coming up with ways to weather and distress the materials in the logos and have them still read. Procedural Dirt materials and Procedural Textures help with this process a lot, but actually modeling in distress or geometry to distress is usually the most important part. How you break or cut a logo, how you apply moss or growth to a logo in a variety of scale and amount is what makes the difference.

I also will take a clean logo and do a few passes with various distress levels so the AD, and CD"s I do work for can paint between a few levels of dirt to achieve the exact look they desire. This multi-pass render approach gives them freedom to adjust per their client input to greater or lesser degrees of aging.
If  you have a need for a Distressed look to a 3D logo, contact me for a quote today. Prices are very reasonable.

3D LOGOS: Part II-Metal 3D Logos for Key Art

Here is a Sample of various Metal 3D Logos I have designed and built in 3D for Key Art and other applications.[ NOTE Blogger reduces the Size even in the enlargement go HERE for full 5K image]

Part II Metal 3D Logos for Key Art

3D Logos Part 2 is my new installment on 3D Logos covering specifically Metal Logos in 3D.

I do hundreds of 3D Logos every year for Key Art, and by far I am asked to do Metal 3D Logos the most. I have been doing 3D Logos since 2001, and yes my first one was a Metal logo as well. This is a staple of work for my Theatrical Entertainment clients for sure, as well as Video Game, Automotive, and Commercial Advertising too.

I have studied Automotive Design[ Art Center Pasadena, and College for Creative Studies] and metals and Chrome work are part of the 'Jewelry' on a fine Automobile. I have also studied Jewelry Design in Collage as well, and the subtle variations in the metals from Gold to Rose Gold, Platinum to Silver are something I really enjoy differentiating in these metal logos.

Some metals are cooler while other warmer, some very mirror like in the surface, while others a dull fogged appearance. I really enjoy aging and weathering the metals with rust and all types of procedural dirt and ambient 'in the cracks' grunge.

Patina is now an art form in the automotive custom business and dialing that in on a 3D Logo is a pure joy on projects that need this specific look to the metal.

If  you have a need for a Metal 3D logo from clean to old, contact me for a quote today. Prices are very reasonable.
