Back in 2002 I built out a 3D Alethiometer for the upcoming film The Golden Compass. At the time there was no principal photography yet so the design was still in 2D sketch form. They sent us a color sketch and I built out a 3D version of the Compass based on the single sketch. The compass was eventually animated by Matt Hartle for some test AV pieces as well.
A fun project and concept to build out, though it was never used for the trailers.
